Quality Grades — How to Distinguish
| Grade | Pellet quality | Identification |
|---|---|---|
| 3505 (superior) | Tight, round, uniform pellets, heavy feel | Dark glossy green; pellets do not crumble in the palm |
| 9372 / 9475 | Looser, lighter pellets | Duller color, more broken pellets, lower price |
Liquor: yellow-green, clear, full-bodied | Aroma: roasted, smoky-sweet | Taste: strong, full, long finish
Pellet tightness is the core quality cue: high-grade gunpowder stays hard and glossy; loose, light, dull pellets indicate low grade or old stock. We grade by standard sieve retention and declare it per lot.

What does 3505 mean?

Gunpowder vs Chunmee — which for Morocco?
Both serve the mint-tea market; gunpowder gives a rounder, roasted cup, Chunmee a brisker, more astringent one. Many importers carry both items.
